Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed reconstitutes Emirates Red Crescent board

H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan has issued a decision appointing a new Board of Directors for the Emirates Red Crescent to bolster governance, readiness and humanitarian impact.

Abu Dhabi, 14 September 2026 — H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in Al Dhafra Region and Chairman of the Emirates Red Crescent Authority, has reconstituted the Authority’s Board of Directors.

The decision appoints Khalid Abdullah bin Shaiban Al Muhair as Chair, and names Nasser Mohammed Al Mansouri, Saeed Mohammed Al Mazrouei, Noura Khamis Al Ghaithi, Ahmed Rashid Al Neyadi, Saif Ateeq Al Falahi, Khadim Abdullah Al Darei, Khalifa Hamad Al Dhaheri, Qais Rashid Al Dhaheri and Abdullah Ahmed Balalaa as board members.

The President of the Authority emphasised the board’s role in strengthening governance and institutional efficiency, expanding the Emirates Red Crescent’s impact and enhancing its readiness and capacity for rapid response to relief appeals. The reconstitution reflects an administrative renewal intended to support the Authority’s humanitarian mandate at home and abroad.

Sheikh Hamdan also expressed his appreciation for the outgoing board, thanking its members for their service and contributions to the Authority’s work. The transitional move follows routine governance practice for national humanitarian institutions, with an explicit focus on improving operational preparedness and oversight.

The Emirates Red Crescent has a nationwide remit to coordinate relief and humanitarian assistance; the newly appointed board will be responsible for providing strategic direction, ensuring sound governance and overseeing the Authority’s efforts in delivering timely support in emergencies and development initiatives.

By renewing the board, the Authority signals an intent to reinforce institutional capacity and to align leadership with evolving humanitarian and operational priorities. The decision underlines Abu Dhabi’s continuing role in guiding national humanitarian bodies and in maintaining readiness to respond to domestic and international relief needs.
