Specialist Brain and Memory Health Services Expand Across the UAE Through Strategic Partnership
A landmark collaboration between Mubadala Health Dubai, Tawam Molecular Imaging Centre and the UK-based Re:Cognition Health brings world-class expertise in memory and cognitive health to the region, establishing a coordinated pathway of care for patients seeking diagnosis and treatment.
A significant partnership has been established to advance specialist brain and memory health services throughout the United Arab Emirates. Mubadala Health Dubai and Tawam Molecular Imaging Centre have joined with Re:Cognition Health, a leading UK-based organisation with more than fifteen years of experience in cognitive and neurodevelopmental care, to create an integrated clinical network that places patients at the centre of a coordinated care journey.
The agreement, signed during the Abu Dhabi Future Health Summit, marks Re:Cognition Health’s inaugural clinical presence in the Middle East and demonstrates a shared commitment to expanding access to specialised, evidence-based healthcare across the region. The first phase of services has already launched at Mubadala Health Dubai, with expansion to Tawam Molecular Imaging Centre in the Al Ain region to follow.
A Comprehensive Approach to Memory and Cognitive Care
Through this collaboration, patients experiencing changes in memory or cognition will benefit from specialist assessment, advanced diagnostic capabilities and individualised treatment planning delivered within a seamlessly integrated clinical setting. The service will initially concentrate on memory concerns, cognitive impairment, Alzheimer’s disease and other neurodegenerative conditions.
The diagnostic pathway draws upon the full spectrum of contemporary investigative techniques. Following an initial specialist consultation and clinical assessment, patients may undergo further investigations including blood tests, magnetic resonance imaging, amyloid positron emission tomography imaging, cerebrospinal fluid analysis or genetic testing. These results inform a personalised care plan developed according to each patient’s diagnosis, medical history and individual circumstances.
For eligible patients with early Alzheimer’s disease, the partnership will facilitate access to disease-modifying therapies, subject to clinical assessment, applicable regulatory requirements and established eligibility criteria. Patients receiving these treatments will benefit from specialist oversight and comprehensive safety monitoring throughout their care journey.
Expanding Neurodevelopmental Services
The collaboration will progressively introduce neurodevelopmental services, commencing with telemedicine consultations in Dubai. These services will support the assessment and management of conditions including attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder and autism, significantly broadening access to specialist brain and mind health care across the Emirates.
Dr Moza Ajaif Al Zaabi, Chief Executive Officer of Mubadala Health Dubai, observed: “People experiencing changes in memory or cognition need timely answers and a clear route to appropriate care. Through this collaboration, we are bringing specialist assessment, diagnostics and treatment planning together within MHD’s multidisciplinary setting. This will help patients and families access coordinated care closer to home and give referring physicians a clearer pathway to specialist support.”
Dr Laila Abdelwareth, Chief Executive Officer of Tawam Molecular Imaging Centre, added: “TMIC’s molecular imaging capabilities will play an important role in supporting accurate diagnosis and treatment planning for patients in Al Ain and the wider Abu Dhabi region. By connecting these capabilities with MHD’s clinical infrastructure and Re:Cognition Health’s specialist expertise, we are building a more connected model of memory and brain healthcare across the UAE.”
Specialist Expertise at the Service of Regional Healthcare
Re:Cognition Health brings multidisciplinary clinical teams trained across neurology, neuroradiology, neuropsychology, psychiatry and complementary specialties, with a particular emphasis on early and accurate diagnosis, evidence-based treatment and clinical research. Dr J. Emer MacSweeney, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of Re:Cognition Health, remarked: “Launching our first regional clinical service with MHD and TMIC allows us to bring specialist brain and mind health expertise to patients in the UAE through established local facilities. Together, we can support earlier assessment, accurate diagnosis, evidence-based treatment and ongoing guidance for families. Our aim is to build a service that responds to individual needs while contributing to stronger specialist care in the region.”
This partnership exemplifies M42’s broader commitment to expanding access to specialised, evidence-based care and strengthening prevention, diagnosis and treatment pathways throughout the United Arab Emirates.
