UAE President and King Abdullah II hold talks in Abu Dhabi

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan met His Majesty King Abdullah II in Abu Dhabi to strengthen bilateral cooperation under the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement and consult on regional developments.

Presidents hold strategic discussions on ties and regional issues

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan today received His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in Abu Dhabi for talks on the longstanding fraternal relations between the two countries.

The leaders reviewed co‑operation across economic, trade and development sectors with a view to broadening collaboration under the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement between the UAE and Jordan. They reaffirmed a shared commitment to deepen ties in ways that support development priorities and bring prosperity to both peoples.

Discussions also addressed regional developments of joint concern. The two heads of state exchanged views on the Middle East, underlining their resolve to maintain close consultation and coordination to strengthen security and stability and to support efforts towards lasting peace.

The meeting reflected the longstanding historical links between the UAE and Jordan and the two countries’ interest in advancing practical co‑operation across multiple fields.

A number of senior UAE dignitaries attended the meeting, including His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President of the UAE, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court; His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi; His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in Al Dhafra Region; His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs; His Highness Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Development and Fallen Heroes’ Affairs; His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs; and His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Adviser to the UAE President, together with other senior officials.

On the Jordanian side, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II and His Excellency Dr Jafar Hassan, Prime Minister of Jordan, were among senior officials present for the talks.

His Majesty King Abdullah II departed the UAE later in the day. His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan was present to bid him farewell, accompanied by a number of Their Highnesses the Sheikhs and senior officials.
