MBRF and UNDP to Host Special Knowledge Summit Edition in November

The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation and United Nations Development Programme will convene a special Knowledge Summit on November 24, honouring achievement and examining the global knowledge landscape amid contemporary challenges.
The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation (MBRF) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) will organise a special edition of the Knowledge Summit on November 24 in Dubai. Themed ‘Knowledge: Navigating Crises in a Changing World,’ this exceptional gathering will celebrate knowledge accomplishments whilst analysing the current state and emerging trends of the global knowledge landscape.
The announcement was made at MBRF’s Dubai headquarters, with Jamal bin Huwaireb, Chief Executive of MBRF, and Dr. Hany Torky, Chief Technical Advisor and Project Manager of the Knowledge Project at UNDP, addressing the press. The special edition will recognise the winners of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Award, showcasing their pioneering contributions. It will also mark the launch of the Global Knowledge Index 2026, presenting its key findings and insights into knowledge and development trends.
Mr. bin Huwaireb outlined MBRF’s vision for the event: “This year’s Knowledge Summit reflects our commitment to delivering a comprehensive knowledge experience whilst celebrating achievements and examining the landscape’s current state and future direction. The format aligns with the significance of our exploration into knowledge’s role in developing resilient and sustainable models, enhancing our capacity to anticipate change, and transforming challenges into growth opportunities.”
The special November gathering will precede the 11th Knowledge Summit, scheduled for April 2027. This subsequent edition will feature an extensive programme of panel discussions and in-depth conversations, convening leading thinkers, experts, decision-makers and specialists from across the world. Discussions will focus on leveraging knowledge to navigate transformations, anticipate futures, and develop solutions supporting sustainable development.
Dr. Torky emphasised the crucial relationship between knowledge systems and crisis resilience: “A nation’s capacity to navigate crises depends not solely on resources but on the strength of its knowledge systems, human capital, and technological capabilities. The Global Knowledge Index transcends mere country rankings, identifying strengths and gaps whilst transforming findings into actionable policies and investments.”
The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Award celebrates individuals and organisations whose contributions advance knowledge across diverse fields, whilst promoting initiatives and practices that disseminate knowledge to serve communities. The Global Knowledge Index continues monitoring and analysing the knowledge and development landscape through comprehensive data and indicators, supporting decision-makers in formulating knowledge-based policies and strategies.
