GCAA Completes Emergency Passenger Transfer to Tel Aviv Following Flight Suspension

The General Civil Aviation Authority has successfully concluded its management of passenger operations to Tel Aviv, demonstrating the aviation sector's capacity to respond swiftly to operational challenges.

The General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) has announced the successful completion of passenger transfer operations to Tel Aviv, following the temporary suspension of flydubai services to the destination. Between Friday, 2nd October 2026 and the conclusion of the emergency arrangements, a total of 37 flights operated from Dubai International Airport to Ben Gurion Airport, facilitating the travel of 7,479 passengers.

In response to the flight suspension, the relevant authorities in the United Arab Emirates granted permits to Israeli carriers to operate services to Dubai. These additional operations worked in concert with continuing Etihad Airways flights, providing alternative travel arrangements for passengers affected by the disruption to regularly scheduled services.

The GCAA confirmed that coordination efforts to return stranded passengers and those whose flights had been disrupted have been fully completed, with travellers successfully returning to their intended destinations. This comprehensive approach to passenger care reflects the aviation sector’s commitment to minimising inconvenience during operational challenges.

Etihad Airways has maintained its scheduled flight programme to Tel Aviv throughout this period, continuing to expand the range of travel options available to passengers. The national carrier’s consistent service demonstrates the resilience of the emirate’s aviation network.

The GCAA emphasised its ongoing coordination with all relevant authorities and airlines involved in supporting the continuity of air transport and passenger services. This collaborative approach underscores the aviation sector’s commitment to maintaining operational excellence and passenger satisfaction during periods of adjustment.
