Crown Prince of Fujairah Reviews Natural Resources Development Strategy
H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi meets with leadership of Fujairah Natural Resources Corporation to discuss sustainable sector growth and national talent development.
The Crown Prince of Fujairah has reaffirmed the emirate’s commitment to balanced resource stewardship following a comprehensive review of the Fujairah Natural Resources Corporation’s operations and strategic direction.
During his meeting with Ali Qasim, Director-General of the corporation, H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi underscored the vital importance of sound planning and judicious utilisation of natural resources whilst maintaining rigorous environmental safeguards and ensuring long-term sustainability.
The Crown Prince emphasised the significance of coordinated effort across government agencies and the private sector to advance Fujairah’s development trajectory. He highlighted the instrumental support of H.H. Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah, for initiatives within the natural resources and mining sectors, which he described as fundamental to achieving sustainable and comprehensive development across Fujairah and the broader United Arab Emirates.
During the substantive discussion, the Crown Prince received detailed briefings on the corporation’s principal efforts and development projects spanning the natural resources and mining sectors. The corporation outlined its plans to enhance service delivery mechanisms and nurture national capabilities across these critical industries.
Particular attention was drawn to the corporation’s commitment to aligning its operations with international best practices. The organisation participated in the pilot phase of the sixth cycle of the Global Star Rating System for Services, achieving a four-star rating in the final assessment. This achievement establishes the corporation as the first local entity in Fujairah to successfully implement the system, providing valuable insights into service readiness and identifying pathways for continued enhancement and development.
The meeting also encompassed a thorough review of significant development projects undertaken across Fujairah’s natural resources sector in recent years. The Crown Prince commended the corporation’s endeavours in advancing both sectors and stressed the paramount importance of cultivating, developing and empowering national talent. He emphasised the need to equip Emirati professionals with comprehensive practical and academic expertise in disciplines critical to the sector’s future, including mining, geology and artificial intelligence, thereby ensuring their readiness to meet forthcoming sectoral requirements and technological advances.
