Investopia evolves as catalyst for economic transformation across new sectors

Minister of Economy and Tourism Abdulla bin Touq highlights how Investopia Bridge 2026 is directing global capital towards emerging opportunities whilst positioning the UAE as a hub for innovative economic growth

Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy and Tourism and Co-Chair of the Investopia Board of Trustees, has underscored the transformative role of Investopia in converting strategic dialogue into concrete partnerships and investment opportunities. Speaking during Investopia Bridge 2026, he emphasised the platform’s evolution as a nexus connecting capital with markets and businesses seeking expansion.

The latest economic data reflects the momentum of this strategy. New economy sector companies operating within the UAE have reached approximately 125,000 by mid-2026, representing a noteworthy 37 per cent increase year-on-year. This expansion embodies the nation’s commitment to economic diversification under the strategic guidance of its leadership.

Under the “We the UAE 2031” vision, the country is navigating a pivotal transition towards an integrated new economy model. The Government has prioritised sectors spanning advanced technology, artificial intelligence, digital commerce, renewable energy, circular economy initiatives, green technologies, digital media, fintech and smart mobility solutions. Rather than operating in isolation, these sectors form an interconnected ecosystem reshaping production, investment and value creation across the broader economy.

Artificial intelligence merits particular attention within this framework. Beyond functioning as a standalone sector, it serves as an enabler enhancing manufacturing productivity, optimising logistics, advancing financial services, enriching tourism experiences and boosting energy efficiency. Digital infrastructure similarly catalyses growth across multiple economic verticals.

Investopia Bridge 2026 examines fundamental shifts reshaping the global investment landscape, including economic resilience, the ascendancy of new economy sectors and evolving investment strategies. The event explores mechanisms for attracting sustained capital inflows, fortifying international partnerships and cultivating more robust economies, whilst creating pathways for innovative enterprises to expand internationally.

Over its six-year operational history, Investopia Dialogues—one of three core pillars alongside Communities and MarketPlace—has engaged 25 strategic regional and global markets, from New York to Singapore, Monaco to Cairo. These engagements have facilitated 32 partnership agreements and memoranda of understanding with major institutions, multinational companies, business accelerators and financial entities.

The 2026 iteration demonstrates heightened strategic focus on African investment corridors, progressing from opportunity identification towards developing viable partnerships in infrastructure, financing and industrial capacity. Logistics and infrastructure have emerged as critical priorities, ensuring reliable and resilient trade connectivity amid rapidly evolving economic conditions.

Looking forward, Investopia plans expansion into additional regional markets, including Athens through Investopia Mediterranean initiatives, whilst cultivating further African engagement. Priority sectors include artificial intelligence, fintech, health technology, agritech, renewable energy, air mobility, space technologies, digital commerce and supply chain innovations. Investopia Bridge 2026 will witness multiple agreements across participating entities, including Future 100 initiative accords emphasising entrepreneurship, digital technologies and startup financing.
