His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has directed mosques throughout the UAE to conduct Salaat Al Istisqaa on Friday, invoking divine blessing for rainfall and mercy.
His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, has issued a call for the performance of Salaat Al Istisqaa—the traditional Islamic prayer for rain—to take place across all mosques throughout the nation on Friday, 9th October.
The sacred observance will commence half an hour before the customary Friday prayer, affording the faithful an opportunity to beseech the Almighty for rainfall and divine mercy. His Highness has urged all residents of the Emirates to participate in this meaningful spiritual practice, honouring the revered traditions of Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him.
Salaat Al Istisqaa represents a profound expression of faith and community, rooted in Islamic teaching and practice. The prayer reflects the deep spiritual connection between the people of the UAE and their religious heritage, whilst simultaneously addressing the practical concerns of the region.
This initiative underscores the leadership’s commitment to honouring Islamic values and fostering a culture of collective spiritual devotion amongst the nation’s diverse population. By organising this nationwide observance, the UAE continues to demonstrate its dedication to preserving and promoting Islamic traditions whilst maintaining its position as a beacon of religious tolerance and cultural sophistication.
