Arada Advances Australian Expansion with Landmark Sydney Residential Approval

The Sharjah-based developer has secured planning permission for its first of five planned projects in Sydney's Inner Southwest, marking a significant milestone in its strategic international growth.

Arada, the Sharjah-based master developer, has received formal approval from the NSW Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure for London Place, a substantial residential development valued at AED560 million in Campsie, Sydney. The project represents the inaugural phase of an ambitious five-project portfolio planned for the region, underscoring the developer’s commitment to expanding its presence across Australia.

Designed by internationally recognised architecture firm Woods Bagot, London Place comprises 33 storeys and will deliver 156 apartments to the market, of which 18 units have been designated as affordable housing. The development responds to Sydney’s evolving housing needs whilst contributing meaningfully to community renewal initiatives in the Inner Southwest.

Construction activities are scheduled to commence in the second quarter of 2027, with practical completion anticipated for the fourth quarter of 2029. Ahmed Alkhoshaibi, Group Chief Executive Officer of Arada, commented on the milestone, noting that Campsie presents considerable development potential. “Our ambition in Australia is significant and strategic, and this approval gives us real momentum as we bring our broader pipeline forward,” he stated.

The approval process itself merits particular attention, as London Place received recognition as a State Significant Development (SSD) by the NSW Housing Delivery Authority. This designation provided a streamlined planning pathway specifically designed for major housing initiatives. The approval was secured in under four months—a considerable achievement against the Housing Delivery Authority’s benchmark target of 275 days and a testament to the project’s strategic importance.

London Place’s location in Campsie positions residents advantageously within Sydney’s metropolitan landscape. The forthcoming Campsie Metro Station will deliver connectivity to Sydney’s Central Business District in under twenty minutes, providing ready access to employment opportunities, cultural amenities and the city’s renowned lifestyle attractions.

Since entering the Australian market in 2024, Arada has assembled a substantial development pipeline exceeding 6,000 homes across multiple locations. The company’s global ambitions are reflected in its extensive project portfolio, valued at AED171 billion, with developments currently active across the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, Australia and Syria. In total, Arada’s completed and active portfolio encompasses more than 70,000 homes.
