UAE Champions Supply Chain Resilience at Gulf Industrial Summit

Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber leads delegation to advance technological integration and strengthen GCC industrial cooperation at landmark forum in Bahrain

The United Arab Emirates has reinforced its commitment to strengthening industrial ties across the Gulf Cooperation Council, with Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, heading the national delegation at high-level meetings held in Bahrain this week.

The GCC Industrial Cooperation Committee and the Ministerial Committee for Standardisation convened from October 6 to October 8 to address crucial challenges facing the region’s manufacturing sector. Central to the UAE’s participation was an emphasis on building more resilient and competitive supply chains that harness advanced technology and artificial intelligence to enhance productivity across the industrial landscape.

The gatherings took place alongside the inaugural “Made in the gcc 2026” Forum and Exhibition, which provided an unprecedented platform combining strategic dialogue with practical industry engagement. His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Bahrain, visited the UAE’s pavilion, viewing the nation’s industrial capabilities and technological products that exemplify the sector’s remarkable growth and sophistication.

The UAE’s industrial performance continues to demonstrate substantial momentum. National industrial exports reached AED 260 billion in 2025, with medium- and high-tech products accounting for AED 92 billion of this figure. The National In-Country Value Programme has cumulatively channelled more than AED 473 billion into the domestic economy, fostering expansion among local enterprises and strengthening foundational supply-chain resilience.

Through this forum, Emirati companies showcased diverse industrial and technological solutions across multiple sectors, reflecting the breadth and maturity of the national industrial base. The exhibition facilitated valuable networking opportunities, enabling manufacturers, investors and technology providers to establish partnerships and pursue market integration across the GCC region.

The UAE’s strategic focus remains on leveraging the complementary industrial capabilities of member states to construct more interconnected Gulf value chains. This approach recognises that regional cooperation strengthens the ability of Gulf industries to compete effectively in global markets whilst building domestic economic resilience. Advanced technology, automation and modern industrial solutions emerged as critical priorities in achieving these objectives.
