AJ Sabran Claims Gold at Emirates Arabian Horse Global Cup in Shanghai

The fifth leg of the prestigious Emirates Arabian Horse Global Cup concluded in China, showcasing the finest purebred Arabian horses from international breeders and owners competing across multiple championship categories.
The fifth leg of the third edition of the Emirates Arabian Horse Global Cup reached its conclusion on Wednesday at the Shanghai Juss International Equestrian Centre, bringing together 81 horses representing approximately 35 owners in a celebration of Arabian equestrian excellence.
In the Senior Stallions Championship, AJ Sabran, owned by Dai Tongtong, secured the gold medal, whilst Sinmar Al Bidayer, owned by Wang Renwei, claimed silver honours. Bronze was awarded to Fa Zha Yi, owned by Nuermaimaiti Abulimiti. The championship demonstrated the exceptional quality of competing stallions and the international calibre of the competition.
The prestigious event, held as part of the 2026 Shanghai International Horse Culture Festival, drew distinguished attendance from senior UAE diplomatic officials. Khaled Mohammed Al Shehhi, Chargé d’Affaires of the UAE Embassy in the People’s Republic of China, joined Mohammed Ahmed Al Harbi, Director-General of the Emirates Arabian Horse Society and Vice Chairman of the EAHGC Organising Committee, alongside Mohammed Najeeb Al Razhi, Acting Consul-General of the UAE in Shanghai.
Competition spanned six categories honouring both male and female horses at various developmental stages. Na Di La, owned by Wang Renwei, triumphed in the Yearling Fillies Championship, whilst Sa Bu Li Na secured gold in the Junior Fillies division. The Senior Mares Championship was claimed by Xi Wa Na, owned by Qianan Xinda Bohan Horse Industry Co., Ltd.
The colts’ categories showcased emerging talent, with A Lei Li Ya claiming the Yearling Colts Championship and Xin Xiang Shi Cheng winning the Junior Colts Championship. These achievements highlight the depth of Arabian horse breeding excellence across participating nations.
Held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Zayed bin Hamad Al Nahyan, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Arabian Horse Society, the third edition of the Global Cup spans multiple continents. The initiative supports breeders internationally whilst preserving the heritage of purebred Arabian horses and strengthening the global equestrian community.
The Shanghai leg’s significance extended beyond competition, coinciding with the broader Shanghai International Horse Culture Festival, which featured show jumping, dressage, young riders’ competitions and polo. The occasion also highlighted strengthened cooperation between the Emirates Arabian Horse Society and the Chinese Arabian Horse Society, formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding focused on exchanging expertise and advancing international breeding standards.
