The national age-group judo contingent concluded a triumphant campaign at the Arab Championships, capturing an impressive haul of nine gold, ten silver and ten bronze medals across both junior and cadet categories.
The United Arab Emirates national judo team has concluded a distinguished performance at the Arab Championships held in Kuwait, amassing a remarkable total of 29 medals across the age-group categories. Held from 5th to 9th October at the Kuwait Club Sports Hall under the governance of the Arab Judo Federation, the championship provided an exceptional platform for the nation’s emerging judokas to demonstrate their technical prowess and competitive excellence.
The medal tally comprised nine gold medals, ten silver medals and ten bronze medals, accumulated through performances across both the junior and cadet divisions. The cadet team initiated the nation’s success with fourteen medals during the opening stages of competition, whilst the junior contingent added fifteen additional medals on the final day, exemplifying the depth and calibre of talent within the national programme.
The junior men’s category proved particularly fruitful, with Masoud Al Mismari securing victory in the under-55kg division, Abdulrahman Ganiev triumphing in the under-60kg classification, and Rashid Nematov prevailing in the under-81kg category. Mohammed Al Shamsi claimed the silver medal in the over-100kg division, whilst five additional judokas secured bronze medals: Manea Al Zaabi and Hamid Al Shamsi both in the 55kg category, Hamdan Al Mazmi in the 73kg category, Yousuf Al Awad in the under-81kg category, and Butti Al Hashemi in the 60kg category.

Meera Ahmed concluded the women’s achievement by capturing bronze in the 48kg division.
Mohammed bin Thaloub Al Derie, President of the UAE Judo Federation, commended the outstanding accomplishments, emphasising that the results reflected the exceptional calibre of promising athletes advancing through the national development pathway. He attributed the success to rigorous preparation conducted at an international training camp in Tashkent, which equipped the young judokas with the technical refinement and competitive readiness necessary for international competition.
The federation has committed to the continued advancement of its development programmes for age-group competitors, working in concert with clubs to strengthen competitive capabilities and cultivate a sustained pipeline of excellence. This strategic focus upon junior and cadet divisions reinforces the federation’s commitment to long-term competitive success and the nurturing of emerging talent within the sport.
