Abu Dhabi Chess Club has entered into a significant partnership with the Education Commission of the European Chess Union, establishing a framework for the meaningful exchange of professional expertise and technical knowledge that promises to substantially elevate chess education and competitive development throughout the Emirate.

The cooperation agreement, formalised at the club’s headquarters, encompasses the organisation of tournaments and specialised training camps designed specifically for chess teachers and coaches working within educational institutions. This strategic initiative reflects a commitment to nurturing chess excellence among young players whilst simultaneously advancing the professional capabilities of educators and coaching professionals.

Hussein Abdullah Al Khoury, Chairman of the Board of Directors at Abu Dhabi Chess Club, characterised the agreement as a transformative milestone in the promotion of chess within schools. He emphasised that the partnership strengthens the academy’s developmental trajectory and enables the club to benefit from the considerable expertise cultivated by the European Chess Union in scholastic chess education.

Mr Al Khoury noted that this collaboration aligns seamlessly with the club’s overarching development strategy, undertaken with the valued support of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council. The agreement was signed by Jesper Hall, Chairman of the European Chess Union’s School Education Commission, alongside Mr Al Khoury, formalising a partnership that promises to bring world-class chess education and competitive opportunities to Abu Dhabi’s educational landscape.
