Emirates Arabian Horse Society strengthens UAE-Russia equestrian partnership at Moscow championship

The 2026 Russia National Arabian Horse Championship, organised in cooperation with the Emirates Arabian Horse Society, showcases the UAE's commitment to preserving and elevating Arabian horse breeding on the global stage

The 2026 Russia National Arabian Horse Championship concluded in the Dmitrovsky District of Moscow, representing a significant milestone in UAE-Russia cultural collaboration. The event brought together approximately thirty purebred Arabian horses from eighteen esteemed owners and studs, reflecting the enduring partnership between the two nations in advancing equestrian excellence and heritage preservation.

This championship constitutes the third successful edition organised through cooperation between the Emirates Arabian Horse Society (EAHS) and the Russian Arabian Horse Society, underscoring the strength of their collaborative endeavours. The gathering provided a distinguished platform for owners, breeders and specialists to convene, exchange expertise and reinforce their collective commitment to preserving the legacy of Arabian horses, a breed of profound cultural significance to the United Arab Emirates.

Dr. Mohammed Ahmed Al Jaber, UAE Ambassador to the Russian Federation, and Mohammed Ahmed Al Harbi, Director-General of the EAHS, attended the championship and participated in honouring the victorious competitors. Their presence underscored the importance placed upon these international initiatives by the UAE’s leadership and institutions.

A particularly notable development at this year’s championship was the inaugural implementation of the Rabdan judging system within the Russian Federation. This sophisticated evaluation methodology, reflecting Emirati expertise in Arabian horse assessment, garnered considerable acclaim from Russian participants and officials for its exceptional standards of accuracy, transparency and impartiality. The system represents a significant advancement in elevating the consistency and credibility of international Arabian horse championships.

The substantial prize allocations distributed across the various competition classes provided meaningful support to Arabian horse owners and breeders throughout Russia, fostering continued investment in the development and preservation of these noble animals. Such financial encouragement reinforces the sustainability of breeding programmes and encourages broader participation in safeguarding this treasured tradition.

The EAHS continues to expand its international engagement, nurturing partnerships that extend the reach and prestige of purebred Arabian horses beyond the Emirates. Through initiatives such as this Moscow championship, the organisation advances the UAE’s cultural mission of preserving equestrian heritage whilst establishing Arabian horses as esteemed symbols of excellence recognised across the global community of breeders, owners and enthusiasts.
