Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque to Host Istisqaa Prayer

In response to the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque will host the Istisqaa Prayer, a sacred Islamic tradition, on Friday, 9 October at 12:15 pm. This solemn observance will be led by H.E. Dr. Omar Habtoor Al Derei, who will serve as Imam and deliver the sermon to the assembled worshippers.

The Istisqaa Prayer represents a profound expression of spiritual devotion and community unity, inviting blessings and mercy upon the land and its people. As one of Islam’s most revered supplicatory rituals, this prayer embodies the values of compassion, humility and collective hope that lie at the heart of Emirati culture and the nation’s Islamic heritage.

Visitors and residents alike are invited to participate in this meaningful occasion at one of the world’s most architecturally magnificent mosques, where the grandeur of the sanctuary provides an inspiring setting for this deeply significant spiritual gathering.
