Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre Forges Deeper Partnership with UNESCO

The Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre has entered into substantive discussions with UNESCO to strengthen bilateral cooperation across publishing, translation and the exchange of scholarly knowledge. The dialogue took place during a significant meeting at the Frankfurt Book Fair, reflecting the Centre’s prominent role in advancing Arabic language and culture on the global stage.
His Excellency Saeed Hamdan Al Tunaiji, who serves as Executive Director of the Centre and Director of the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair, led the engagement alongside Cristina Puerta, Head of UNESCO Publications. The conversation centred upon meaningful opportunities to deepen the institutional relationship between the two organisations, with particular emphasis upon collaborative endeavours that would enhance the dissemination of knowledge and facilitate greater exchange of intellectual resources.
This encounter represents a natural extension of the Centre’s mission to promote the Arabic language and foster cultural understanding. By engaging with UNESCO, one of the world’s foremost cultural authorities, the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre reinforces Abu Dhabi’s position as a beacon of intellectual discourse and linguistic scholarship. The discussions undertaken at Frankfurt underscore the Emirate’s commitment to preserving and advancing the Arabic language whilst embracing international collaboration in service of this noble objective.
The Centre’s participation in the Frankfurt Book Fair demonstrates its engagement with the global literary community and its determination to create pathways through which Arabic language scholarship, translation work and cultural knowledge might flourish across borders. Such partnerships prove essential to ensuring that the richness of Arabic literary and intellectual traditions finds appreciative audiences worldwide.
