A film-hotel restaurant that does not need the novelty to work
The WB Abu Dhabi is built around cinema, but The Director’s Club succeeds because it knows when to lower the volume. This is the hotel’s signature steakhouse: darker, more composed and deliberately adult in tone, while still threading film language through the menu. The official description talks about dishes inspired by movie-scene settings, yet the substance is classic steakhouse material – prime cuts, charcoal cooking, seafood, wine and a dining room designed for a proper evening rather than a quick theme-park refuel. That balance makes it useful beyond hotel guests. Yas Island has plenty of spectacle; The Director’s Club is at its best when it turns the spectacle into atmosphere rather than gimmick.
The menu is more ambitious than a list of steaks
The current menu opens with dishes that show a kitchen willing to move around the grill. Mediterranean bisque arrives with pan-seared scallops and rosemary potato fondant; a fish mosaic combines salmon and yellowfin tuna; prawn tartare, hand-chopped beef tartare, brisket tonnato and Spanish octopus give the first act real range. Prime cuts remain the centre of gravity, but recent 2026 diners also single out the Sunday roast and the consistency of the beef and lamb. Go when the room is in evening mode
The Director’s Club currently opens Wednesday to Friday from 5:30pm to 1am, with Saturday and Sunday service from 1pm to 4pm and again from 5:30pm to 1am; it is closed on Monday and Tuesday. Weekend daytime service supports the roast and brunch-style programme, but dinner is when the restaurant’s identity is clearest. Recent guests describe attentive service, strong steaks and an elegant setting, while Hilton continues to run recurring themed evenings around the core menu. For Simply Abu Dhabi, this is not merely a hotel steakhouse attached to a branded property. It is one of The WB’s more convincing pieces of hospitality theatre precisely because the food is allowed to lead.
