Redwood Centre of Excellence Opens on Jubail Island

Jubail Island has welcomed an institution of considerable distinction with the official inauguration of Redwood Nursery and Kindergarten for Excellence, a facility that represents a significant milestone in Abu Dhabi’s educational landscape. The occasion was graced by H.H. Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Zayed Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation, who presided over the opening on 1 October 2026.
As the first nursery and kindergarten of its kind in Abu Dhabi and the inaugural early childhood education establishment to open on Jubail Island itself, Redwood Centre of Excellence sets an elevated standard for the care and education of the very young. The facility welcomes children from 45 days through to six years of age into a thoughtfully curated environment.
The pedagogical approach embraces a sophisticated synthesis of methodologies, weaving together the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme with the most refined practices drawn from Reggio Emilia, Montessori and the Early Years Foundation Stage frameworks. This is enriched further with integrated STEM education, all housed within a purpose designed learning environment of considerable calibre.
This investment by Kids First Group in Abu Dhabi and upon Jubail Island reflects a profound commitment to fostering early childhood development. The vision extends beyond conventional education, seeking instead to furnish children with the space, support and freedom necessary to discover their own abilities whilst cultivating the skills and dispositions essential for active and meaningful participation within their communities as they progress through life.
