Sharjah Public Libraries Present Diverse Programming Across Six Branches Throughout October

The emirate's library network unveils an expansive calendar of 24 carefully curated activities designed to enrich minds and foster community connection across all demographics.
Sharjah Public Libraries has orchestrated an exceptional array of educational and interactive experiences throughout October, transforming the six branches situated across Sharjah, Al Dhaid, Kalba, Khorfakkan, Wadi Al Helo and Dibba Al Hisn into vibrant hubs of intellectual and cultural engagement. The carefully composed programme, comprising 24 distinct activities, addresses themes spanning nutritional wellbeing, restorative sleep, workplace rights, literary exploration, scientific discovery, maritime heritage, artistic expression and athletic pursuit.
The library’s offerings extend across all age groups and family configurations, ingeniously combining the pleasure of reading with substantive professional and legal education. The calendar exemplifies a commitment to making knowledge accessible and compelling for children, adolescents, adults and multigenerational gatherings alike.
Among the month’s distinguished offerings, Sharjah Library presents an immersive theatrical experience centred upon J.M. Barrie’s timeless narrative, featuring scene reenactments and collaborative drawing activities. In a separate endeavour of considerable cultural significance, the “Noor Al Bayan” programme conducts participants through the Holy Quran Museum, illuminating the evolution of Quranic scholarship, manuscript preservation and the refined art of Quranic calligraphy.
The Al Dhaid branch introduces children to martial disciplines through specialised instruction in jiu-jitsu, whilst the Kalba branch extends its reach to individuals of determination, offering a space wherein artistic talents may flourish through interactive and imaginative engagement. A compelling narrative programme at Kalba features an original composition by author Aisha Al Harthi, whilst a complementary initiative explores the empirical methodology of scientific exploration.
Sharjah’s distinguished maritime heritage receives particular attention through the Khorfakkan branch’s examination of pearl cultivation and its profound economic and cultural resonance. The same location addresses the science of restorative sleep, drawing upon contemporary scholarship to examine sleep disturbances and evidence-based solutions.
Collaborative partnerships enrich the programming further. Wadi Al Helo Library partners with Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services to present pottery instruction, whilst the Dibba Al Hisn branch hosts a medical session for women exploring the interconnection between daily practices and holistic wellbeing. The month concludes with a celebration honouring the International Day of Older Persons and World Mental Health Day, featuring intergenerational art and relaxation sessions designed to strengthen familial bonds.
