UAE Launches Blue Content Creators Programme Ahead of UN Water Conference

The National Media Authority, in partnership with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Federal Youth Authority, invites 50 UAE citizens and residents to train as content creators focused on water sustainability and international cooperation.

The National Media Authority, in partnership with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Federal Youth Authority, has unveiled the Blue Content Creators Programme, a comprehensive initiative designed to cultivate the next generation of digital storytellers devoted to advancing awareness of water sustainability and the UAE’s remarkable achievements in innovation and international cooperation.

The programme welcomes applications from 50 UAE citizens and residents aged 18 to 35 who possess a passion for content creation, media, environmental stewardship or sustainability. The application window remains open until 30th October 2026, with participants selected to reflect the rich diversity of UAE society.

This timely initiative emerges as the UAE prepares to co-host the 2026 United Nations Water Conference with Senegal in Abu Dhabi from 8th to 10th December. The programme aims to empower young creative minds to craft compelling narratives that illuminate the profound interconnections between water, human health, food security, energy and sustainable development, whilst championing international cooperation to safeguard water resources for generations to come.

Abdulla Ahmed Balalaa, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Energy and Sustainability, emphasised the significance of engaging young voices in shaping global water policy. He underscored that the decisions made today regarding water will profoundly influence the world inherited by future generations, and that young people’s perspectives and ideas are essential to guiding these critical choices.

The three week training programme, scheduled for November, encompasses an extensive curriculum covering water issues, narrative techniques, video production, digital publishing strategies and the transformative applications of artificial intelligence in content creation. Participants will subsequently apply their newly acquired expertise to produce original content aligned with the December conference.

Mohammed Saeed Al Shehhi, NMA Secretary-General, highlighted the Authority’s commitment to nurturing emerging media talent and equipping young creators with the competencies required to communicate effectively with audiences worldwide. He emphasised that raising awareness of water sustainability strengthens public understanding of these vital challenges and encourages meaningful community participation in addressing them.

Khalid Al Nuaimi, Director of the Federal Youth Authority, stressed that water and sustainability represent issues of paramount importance to coming generations, necessitating young people’s active engagement in understanding challenges and contributing innovative solutions. Hussein Al Atoli, Director of the New Media Academy, affirmed the Academy’s commitment to equipping participants with knowledge and tools to transform specialised water related subjects into compelling, accessible narratives capable of reaching and inspiring global audiences.
