The Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Jiu-Jitsu Championship concludes this month at Mubadala Arena with competitions across all age categories, celebrating a season that has established itself as a premier national platform for developing martial arts talent.
The UAE Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts Federation has unveiled the schedule for the final round of the Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Jiu-Jitsu Championship, which will unfold at Mubadala Arena in Abu Dhabi from 16th to 18th October. The concluding competitions will determine the Gi champions and honour the top finishers across both Gi and No-Gi disciplines in the 2026 season’s overall standings.
The championship’s third edition has flourished as a distinguished national platform, serving as an essential avenue for identifying and nurturing emerging talent, whilst enabling clubs and academies to measure their collective progress and prepare promising athletes for continental and international representation. Throughout the competition, athletes from all age groups and weight categories have accumulated points for their respective clubs, maintaining an intensely competitive landscape where every performance carries significance.
Baniyas Jiu-Jitsu Club presently leads the overall Gi standings, with Al Ain Jiu-Jitsu Club and Palms Sports – Team 777 closely contending for positions in the final hierarchy. The three-day format commences on Friday, 16th October, with competitions in the Under-18, Adults and Masters categories for both men and women. Saturday, 17th October, welcomes young competitors in the Kids categories, whilst Sunday, 18th October, features the Under-12, Under-14 and Under-16 divisions, culminating in a celebratory ceremony recognising the season’s leading performers.
Fahad Ali Al Shamsi, Secretary-General of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts Federation, emphasised that the championship’s significance extends beyond individual victories. The final standings reflect the cumulative endeavours of male and female athletes spanning every age group throughout the entire season. By providing regular competitive opportunities, the championship enables athletes to refine their technical proficiency and develop composure under competitive pressure, whilst facilitating clubs and academies in evaluating their programmes and identifying pathways toward excellence.
The championship resonates particularly during the Year of the Family 2026, with parents assuming an instrumental role through their attendance and steadfast encouragement. Participation across diverse age categories cultivates discipline, fosters institutional pride and strengthens the bonds of teamwork, uniting athletes, families and clubs in pursuit of shared aspirations. Young competitors have testified to the profound impact of the championship in enhancing their capabilities and confidence. Such opportunities not only advance individual progress but also fortify the foundations upon which UAE jiu-jitsu continues to establish its distinguished standing internationally.
