TotalEnergies Sustainability Design Award 2026: Reimagining Connected Communities

The Abu Dhabi Music and Arts Foundation presents an exceptional opportunity for emerging creative minds to shape the future of our built environment. The TotalEnergies Sustainability Design Award 2026 represents a distinguished platform through which young Emirati designers and architects may demonstrate their visionary approaches to one of our era’s most pressing challenges: the creation of sustainable, interconnected communities.
This year’s theme, Sustainable Design for Connected Communities, invites participants to contemplate the profound ways in which thoughtful design can foster meaningful connections between people, places and the natural world. Through original projects spanning Building Design, Interior Design, Landscape Architecture and Sustainable Design, entrants are encouraged to explore innovative solutions that strengthen the social, environmental and spatial fabric of our communities.
The award celebrates the transformative potential of design thinking, positioning sustainability not merely as an environmental imperative but as a fundamental principle through which human connection and wellbeing may flourish. Whether reimagining urban spaces, creating resilient interior environments, designing landscapes that harmonise with nature, or pioneering holistic sustainable approaches, participants are invited to articulate their vision for communities that endure, thrive and unite.
The Abu Dhabi Music and Arts Foundation, recognised as a catalyst for cultural and creative excellence, welcomes submissions that reflect the aspirations of the United Arab Emirates towards a more sustainable and equitable future. This is an invitation to young Emirati talent to contribute meaningfully to conversations about the places we inhabit and the connections we cherish.
Submissions close on 16 November 2026, offering designers and architects ample opportunity to develop and refine their concepts. Those inspired to participate are encouraged to engage with the award’s formal submission process without delay.
