Capital Market Authority Unveils Enhanced Regulatory Framework Access

The UAE Capital Market Authority has introduced comprehensive enhancements to its regulatory frameworks, providing stakeholders with streamlined access to capital market governance through improved digital presentation and navigation.
The UAE Capital Market Authority has announced a significant series of enhancements designed to elevate accessibility to the capital market regulatory frameworks, their presentation, and ease of reference, thereby strengthening the regulatory environment and embracing international best practices.
The refined access mechanisms now extend to investors, licensed entities, issuers, financial influencers, participants in the regulatory sandbox, and other market stakeholders, both within the UAE and internationally, affording them enhanced clarity in navigating the regulations governing capital market activities, products, and services. The regulatory content has been meticulously reorganised into clearly defined chapters and categories, presenting a structured hierarchy of regulations currently in force, approved updates, repealed provisions, archived materials, and comprehensive version history.
This thoughtfully curated approach enables users to gain a comprehensive and crystalline understanding of the current regulatory landscape, whilst simultaneously providing valuable insight into its evolution over time. The framework is now presented in both Arabic and English, with enhanced search and filtering functions, improved navigation pathways, and seamless links to related content facilitating more intuitive exploration of regulatory materials.
Waleed Saeed Al Awadhi, Chief Executive Officer of the Capital Market Authority, articulated the strategic vision underpinning these enhancements: “Every transformative initiative undertaken by the Authority is focused on building a regulatory environment that facilitates stakeholders’ access to regulatory frameworks, while enhancing connectivity and future readiness. By improving the way regulatory frameworks are accessed, presented, and updated, we are making it easier for stakeholders to understand the frameworks governing the capital market, while further enhancing transparency, efficiency, and confidence.”
Abdullatif Alshamsi, Director of the Policies and Legislation Department at the Capital Market Authority, emphasised the fundamental principle guiding these improvements: “Accessible regulation is important to enabling stakeholders to understand the regulatory framework that applies to their activities. By bringing current regulations together with related decisions and updates, the enhancements provide a more consistent and accessible reference for stakeholders.”
The capacity to switch directly between Arabic and English, coupled with regulatory updates presented alongside relevant dates and version history, enables users to identify requirements currently in force and comprehend how provisions have evolved throughout time. These enhancements are underpinned by a cloud-based, artificial intelligence-ready technology infrastructure, reinforcing the Authority’s broader digital transformation endeavours and establishing a robust foundation for the sophisticated application of technology to regulatory information search and retrieval.
