Dubai Business Women Council Fosters Strategic Economic Ties with China

A high-level roundtable in Shenzhen brought together 30 senior Emirati and Chinese businesswomen to explore trade, investment and collaborative opportunities between the UAE and China.

The Dubai Business Women Council has convened a distinguished gathering of business leaders in Shenzhen, bringing together thirty senior Emirati and Chinese businesswomen to cultivate deeper bilateral economic engagement and strategic partnership. The roundtable, held as part of the Dubai Business Forum – China organised by Dubai Chambers, provided an elevated platform for direct dialogue between both business communities, with particular emphasis upon building commercially meaningful and enduring relationships.

Presided over by Dr. Raja Easa Al Gurg, Founder and President of the Council, the session welcomed members of the organisation’s Board, Emirati businesswomen representing the Dubai delegation, and distinguished Chinese business leaders spanning diverse industries and commercial portfolios. The discourse centred upon strengthening bilateral cooperation, exchanging invaluable expertise and identifying promising avenues for trade, investment and long-term collaborative ventures.

Dr. Al Gurg articulated the Council’s overarching vision, reflecting upon two decades of commitment to developing professional capabilities, fostering access to knowledge and nurturing the networks essential for women to flourish within an increasingly dynamic business landscape. She emphasised that engagement with Chinese counterparts represents a natural extension of this dedication, particularly given the robust economic foundations shared between the UAE and China and the considerable potential for meaningful trade and investment opportunities.

The roundtable illuminated Dubai’s distinguished position as a preeminent global business and investment centre, underpinned by its sophisticated infrastructure, dynamic business environment and exceptional connectivity to international markets. Discussions explored promising prospects for Emirati and Chinese businesswomen to exchange market insights, expand their professional networks and identify shared commercial interests of mutual benefit.

The participation of Emirati businesswomen representing diverse economic sectors underscored their increasingly significant contribution to the national economy and their role in developing internationally connected enterprises. The Shenzhen gathering reinforces the Council’s longstanding commitment to providing businesswomen with the knowledge, networks and opportunities requisite for sustained competitive excellence.

Established in 2002, the Dubai Business Women Council has consistently played a vital role in cultivating Dubai’s businesswomen ecosystem through investments in skills development, professional advancement, mentorship initiatives and strategic partnerships. Through programmes thoughtfully aligned with the UAE’s national priorities, the Council continues to equip businesswomen, founders and entrepreneurs with the knowledge, practical tools and best practices necessary for business growth, adaptation to evolving professional landscapes and access to emerging opportunities, including pathways for women re-entering the workforce.
