Operation Chivalrous Knight 3 sustains comprehensive medical support across Gaza

The United Arab Emirates maintains its extensive humanitarian healthcare initiative across Gaza, delivering vital medical services, supplies and rehabilitation support through hospitals, mobile clinics and specialised medical facilities.
The United Arab Emirates persists in its steadfast commitment to sustaining Gaza’s healthcare infrastructure through Operation Chivalrous Knight 3, a comprehensive medical humanitarian initiative that continues to provide essential care to patients and the injured across the territory. Since the operation’s commencement on 5th November 2023, the UAE has established a multifaceted approach to addressing the region’s pressing healthcare needs amid significant infrastructural challenges.
The UAE field hospital in Rafah has demonstrated remarkable capacity, having extended treatment to more than 54,000 patients and injured individuals. This substantial contribution represents a cornerstone of the nation’s ongoing medical response, particularly as approximately 30 hospitals across Gaza remain unable to provide services. To address this critical shortfall, the UAE has established two dedicated medical centres in southern and northern Gaza, collectively serving approximately 4,000 patients monthly. A mobile clinic has been strategically deployed to reach displaced populations in temporary settlements, ensuring healthcare remains accessible to those most in need.
The logistical dimensions of this operation reflect considerable dedication to infrastructure support. Medical aid convoys have transported 1,903 tonnes of medicines, medical equipment and supplies through the Rafah crossing in cooperation with the World Health Organisation, substantially enhancing hospital capacity throughout Gaza. In Al Arish, Egypt, the UAE floating hospital has provided treatment to more than 35,000 Palestinian patients, whilst Operation Chivalrous Knight 3 has facilitated the evacuation of approximately 3,000 patients for treatment within UAE hospitals, meaningfully reducing pressure on local healthcare facilities.
Beyond immediate medical intervention, the operation encompasses preventative healthcare initiatives of considerable scope. The UAE has supplied more than 600,000 vaccine doses to prevent and combat polio, addressing a critical public health concern. Emergency services have been reinforced through the delivery of 27 fully equipped ambulances to the territory.
Rehabilitation initiatives reflect a compassionate approach to comprehensive care. A project to provide 10,000 pairs of prescription glasses addresses the vision healthcare needs of vulnerable populations, whilst a prosthetic limb manufacturing programme has been established to serve approximately 203 amputees, enabling them to restore mobility and independence in their daily activities.
These multifaceted initiatives collectively exemplify the UAE’s unwavering humanitarian commitment, encompassing emergency response, direct treatment provision, preventative healthcare, and long term rehabilitation support for the Palestinian people.
