Dubai Municipality Completes Over 107 Transformative Urban Projects Worth AED1.6 Billion

The Public Facilities Agency marks a significant milestone in advancing the emirate's public spaces, with comprehensive investments in beaches, parks, beautification and community infrastructure.

Dubai Municipality has successfully completed more than 107 development projects valued at AED1.6 billion during 2026, representing a transformative advancement in the creation and enhancement of the emirate’s public destinations and community spaces. Delivered through its Public Facilities Agency, this substantial portfolio demonstrates the Municipality’s unwavering commitment to expanding Dubai’s recreational and social infrastructure whilst elevating the everyday experiences of residents and visitors alike.

The comprehensive programme encompasses an integrated approach to urban development, spanning the creation of public parks, the enhancement of beach facilities, neighbourhood beautification initiatives, sophisticated landscaping schemes and the development of community facilities. Beyond these primary public destinations, the Agency has contributed meaningfully to the development of essential infrastructure for allied government entities, including educational institutions, social services and broader community amenities. This collaborative approach underscores Dubai Municipality’s wider commitment to supporting the emirate’s continued development and the delivery of essential community services.

The scale of achievement reflects the Public Facilities Agency’s expanding influence in shaping Dubai’s urban environment. The Agency advances a holistic methodology that seamlessly connects planning, design, construction and ongoing operations, ensuring that public investment generates sustained value throughout each facility’s complete lifecycle. This approach prioritises the quality, accessibility and long-term performance of public spaces, creating destinations that serve the community with enduring distinction.

A significant proportion of the 2026 portfolio focuses on developing new community destinations and comprehensively upgrading existing public spaces to meet Dubai’s evolving urban requirements and demographic growth. The completed projects encompass developments across some of Dubai’s most prominent public destinations, including Al Mamzar Beaches, school facilities, neighbourhood Majlis spaces, Hewi Dubai in Nad Al Sheba, new neighbourhood parks, countryside and rural area developments, alongside citywide landscaping, beautification and agricultural initiatives.

Investment allocation demonstrates the Municipality’s strategic priorities in creating beautiful, verdant and people-centred public spaces. Thirty-six percent of total project investment was directed towards beach developments, whilst twenty-two percent supported city beautification, landscaping and agricultural projects. Together, these allocations create recreational and community spaces of exceptional quality, enhance the urban environment and extend opportunities for outdoor activity and meaningful social interaction across the emirate.

The Agency’s development methodology draws upon community feedback, visitor insights and operational data to inform the design and continuous improvement of public facilities. This evidence-informed approach enables Dubai Municipality to respond with precision to evolving community needs and to develop destinations that serve diverse age groups and patterns of use with thoughtful distinction.
