TAMM AutoGov Wins EMEA Recognition at Gartner Eye on Innovation Awards 2026

Abu Dhabi's pioneering AI-powered government platform has been named the best government initiative across Europe, the Middle East and Africa, cementing the emirate's position as a leader in transformative digital public services.
TAMM AutoGov, the cornerstone of Abu Dhabi’s ambitious journey towards becoming the world’s first AI-native government by 2027, has received significant international recognition as the EMEA winner at the 2026 Gartner Eye on Innovation Awards. The accolade represents a remarkable achievement for a platform developed collaboratively by the Department of Government Enablement – Abu Dhabi in partnership with more than 45 government entities across the emirate.
A Transformative Approach to Public Service
Launched in October 2025 and hailed as the world’s first AI public servant, TAMM AutoGov represents a fundamental reimagining of how government services engage with citizens. Rather than requiring residents to initiate requests, the platform employs agentic artificial intelligence to proactively complete tasks on behalf of users, anticipating needs before they become pressing concerns. This event-driven model transforms recurring services from reactive responses into seamless, preventative interventions.
The platform’s capabilities extend across an expansive network, integrating more than 1,200 public and private services whilst resolving 96 per cent of service requests entirely through autonomous processes. With 4.7 million active users, TAMM AutoGov has demonstrated remarkable operational success in its inaugural six months of operation.
Measurable Impact and Exceptional Performance
The accolades awarded to TAMM AutoGov reflect not merely technological innovation but tangible improvements in citizens’ lives. Within half a year of its launch, the platform helped users avoid more than AED17 million in late fees through autonomous payment management, including the settlement of traffic fines. The system has achieved a customer satisfaction score of 94.8 per cent and generated impressive quarter-on-quarter transaction growth of 40 per cent.
Practical examples of the platform’s transformative approach include the automatic renewal of trade licences before expiry dates and disability cards before they lapse, eliminating the administrative burden that traditionally falls upon users to monitor and manage such requirements independently.
Broader Digital Revolution
The recognition of TAMM AutoGov occurs within the context of the wider TAMM ecosystem’s remarkable achievements. The broader application has achieved a digital adoption rate of 98 per cent and annually helps users avoid more than 37 million in-person visits to government centres, effectively returning approximately 54 million hours to residents each year.
His Excellency Dr Mohamed Al Askar, Director General of TAMM, reflected upon the achievement: “A government service that works well is one that reaches people before they have to ask for it – before the deadline, before the disruption. That is what TAMM AutoGov does, and it does it because every government entity in Abu Dhabi is building something together. The result is millions of hours returned to people every year and penalties they never had to pay.”
Global Recognition and Industry Standing
The Gartner Eye on Innovation Awards for Government represent among the world’s most prestigious competitions honouring organisations that apply technology to deliver measurable outcomes. The 2026 edition attracted a record number of submissions from government organisations worldwide, with finalists from EMEA, the Americas and APAC assessed by senior Gartner analysts and selected by senior government representatives from around the world.
TAMM’s recognition at Gartner supplements previous international accolades, including designation as the world’s best e-Government project at the WSIS Prizes 2025, an award programme backed by the United Nations. These commendations reflect Abu Dhabi’s growing international standing as a leader in deploying artificial intelligence to enhance public services with sophistication and measurable public value.
