Ministry of Foreign Affairs and M42 forge healthcare partnership to elevate employee wellbeing

A new collaboration brings comprehensive preventive healthcare services and specialist care to MoFA employees and their families, underscoring the Ministry's commitment to supporting its workforce.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and M42, a preeminent global health organisation distinguished by its pioneering integration of artificial intelligence, advanced technology and genomics, have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding designed to substantially enhance healthcare provision for Ministry personnel and their families. The agreement reflects a shared commitment to preventive medicine, early intervention and the holistic wellbeing of all those it serves.
The accord was formalised by Omar Obaid Alhesan Alshamsi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Dr. Ali Anees, Chief Operating Officer for the UAE and Bahrain in M42’s Global Patient Care division. Through this partnership, beneficiaries will gain access to M42’s extensive integrated healthcare network, encompassing expertise across primary care, family medicine, specialised medical disciplines, sophisticated diagnostics and comprehensive wellness programmes.
The arrangement extends notable practical advantages to Ministry employees and eligible family members, including priority scheduling for medical appointments and the opportunity to obtain specialist second opinions in complex clinical cases. Such provisions empower individuals to make thoroughly informed decisions regarding their treatment pathways and to navigate their healthcare journeys with greater confidence and clarity.
Undersecretary Alshamsi emphasised that the Ministry remains steadfastly devoted to enriching the benefits and services extended to its employees, thereby cultivating a workplace environment of genuine support whilst elevating quality of life for personnel and their dependents. He noted that this initiative exemplifies the Ministry’s broader commitment to expanding partnerships across both public and private sector organisations, particularly within the healthcare domain.
The partnership represents an expansion of the Ministry’s existing collaboration with Healthpoint, which forms part of the broader M42 group and has consistently delivered exceptional standards of service and clinical care. The new memorandum extends this fruitful cooperation to encompass additional medical specialties and healthcare facilities, thereby facilitating access to an enriched spectrum of high-quality medical options that align with internationally recognised standards of excellence.
Dr. Ali Anees reflected upon the partnership’s significance, emphasising that robust health constitutes the essential foundation upon which thriving workforces and resilient communities are constructed. He expressed the conviction that through collaborative endeavour with the Ministry, M42 shall render its sophisticated healthcare capabilities more accessible to employees and their families, thereby ensuring that individuals receive appropriate care at precisely the moment when they require it most. The emphasis upon preventive measures, timely early intervention and coordinated care provision aims to generate improved long-term health trajectories and to inspire individuals towards greater personal agency in the stewardship of their own wellbeing.
The memorandum establishes a comprehensive framework for sustained collaboration, creating opportunities for both parties to develop and introduce supplementary health and wellness initiatives calibrated to the specific requirements of the Ministry’s workforce. The partnership shall furthermore strengthen awareness of preventive healthcare practices, encouraging employees and their families to assume a more proactive and engaged role in the preservation of their health and overall wellbeing.
