RAK Ruler Addresses Business Summit in Shenzhen, Emphasising Stability as Foundation for Progress
His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi convened nearly 300 business leaders and government representatives in China to explore deepening economic cooperation between Ras Al Khaimah and the region.
His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, UAE Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, addressed the Ras Al Khaimah-China Business Summit in Shenzhen, bringing together an assembly of almost 300 government representatives, investors and distinguished business leaders intent upon strengthening the economic ties between the Emirate and China and exploring promising new opportunities for investment and strategic cooperation.
The summit, elegantly themed “Together Towards Shared Value”, created a sophisticated platform for Chinese enterprises to connect with Ras Al Khaimah’s economic and development institutions, revealing compelling opportunities across both established sectors and emerging industries of considerable promise. Discussions centred upon the transformative potential of closer cooperation in translating shared ambitions into tangible investment, meaningful commercial partnerships and transformative on-the-ground projects.
In his keynote address, His Highness noted that thousands of Chinese companies have already established their presence within the UAE, with more than 400 now operating within Ras Al Khaimah itself. He outlined the Emirate’s expanding investment opportunities across advanced manufacturing, artificial intelligence, digital technologies, renewable energy and logistics, whilst emphasising the paramount importance of stability, trust and enduring partnerships in fostering sustainable economic growth.
His Highness expressed a vision extending beyond immediate commercial gains, stating that progress must be measured not by short-term success but by the legacy created for future generations. He outlined an economy that is resilient, diversified and intricately integrated into global supply chains, whilst preserving the quality of life and opportunity that distinguishes Ras Al Khaimah as a remarkable place to reside, work and conduct business.
The Ruler highlighted Ras Al Khaimah’s strategic position as the UAE’s Northern Gateway, presenting a distinctive advantage in connecting Chinese businesses with expanding markets across the Middle East, Africa and Europe, thereby complementing China’s Belt and Road Initiative.
The summit programme encompassed a fireside conversation on economic connections between China and Ras Al Khaimah, a comprehensive presentation by the UAE Ministry of Investment, and illuminating panel discussions examining investment, finance and trade. Sessions explored how technology, culture and connectivity are shaping smart destinations and creating unprecedented opportunities for both business enterprise and communities alike.
Prior to the summit, His Highness met with Li Yun, Deputy Secretary of Shenzhen Municipal Committee and Mayor of Shenzhen, to discuss further strengthening the relations between Ras Al Khaimah and Shenzhen whilst expanding cooperation across sectors of mutual interest, including trade, investment and economic development.
