International Charity Organisation Opens Transformative Residential and Educational Complexes Across West Africa

The International Charity Organisation has inaugurated comprehensive residential villages in Benin and Senegal, complete with educational facilities, healthcare centres and essential services, reflecting the UAE's commitment to sustainable humanitarian development.
A distinguished delegation from the International Charity Organisation, under the leadership of Secretary-General Dr. Khaled Al Khaja, has inaugurated two substantial residential villages alongside an array of educational and service initiatives across West Africa, representing a significant milestone in the organisation’s humanitarian endeavours.
The first village, situated in the Republic of Benin and dedicated to providing sanctuary for orphans, comprises one hundred residences. The second installation, located in the Republic of Senegal, encompasses fifty homes. Together, these developments offer beneficiaries access to secure and stable living environments, establishing foundations upon which families and individuals may build their futures with confidence and dignity.
Each village has been thoughtfully conceived as a comprehensive community, incorporating essential facilities that address the multifaceted needs of residents. These amenities include a mosque serving as a spiritual centre, a Quran memorisation facility supporting religious education, a water well ensuring access to clean water, a health centre providing medical services, and classrooms facilitating ongoing educational development. This integrated approach demonstrates a profound understanding of human flourishing and the interconnected nature of wellbeing.
Dr. Al Khaja articulated the organisation’s foundational philosophy, emphasising that these projects exemplify a commitment to sustainable humanitarian and development initiatives that transcend immediate charitable relief. Rather, they endeavour to enable communities to surmount enduring livelihood challenges, thereby advancing genuine and lasting transformation. This approach resonates deeply with the humanitarian principles that characterise the United Arab Emirates’ engagement with the global community.
The Secretary-General further illuminated the organisation’s expansive vision, clarifying that their ambitions extend considerably beyond the provision of shelter and housing. Their mission encompasses the empowerment of individuals and the cultivation of improved prospects for beneficiaries and their families, fostering self-sufficiency and dignity across generations.
Dr. Al Khaja extended heartfelt acknowledgement to the philanthropists and donors whose generous contributions have rendered these ambitious initiatives possible. He emphasised that such support remains essential to sustaining and broadening the organisation’s humanitarian projects across the global landscape, enabling the continuation of this vital work in service to humanity.
