UAE Leads Regional Dialogue on Islamic Affairs and Endowment Stewardship

The Chairman of the General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments and Zakat has spearheaded the Emirates delegation to a significant gathering of Gulf Cooperation Council ministers, advancing progressive discourse on religious governance and technological innovation.

The twelfth convening of GCC Ministers and Officials Responsible for Islamic Affairs and Endowments assembled in Bahrain, where Dr. Omar Habtoor Al Darei, Chairman of the General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments and Zakat, led the United Arab Emirates’ delegation to contribute to vital discussions of regional significance.

In his address to the distinguished assembly, Dr. Al Darei celebrated the profound solidarity that binds the GCC states together, commending their collective endeavours in cultivating moderation, tolerance and peaceful coexistence amongst their diverse populations. He articulated appreciation for the region’s commitment to refining religious discourse and establishing exemplary frameworks for endowment governance that serve as models of institutional excellence.

The Chairman underscored the UAE’s remarkable achievements under the visionary directives of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, highlighting the nation’s pioneering integration of digital technologies and artificial intelligence into endowment administration. These transformative innovations extend across the enhancement of Quranic education initiatives and the refinement of Friday sermons, demonstrating the Emirates’ sophisticated approach to preserving and advancing Islamic knowledge.

Dr. Al Darei presented two substantive proposals emanating from the UAE’s progressive vision for the region. The first addresses the revolutionary application of artificial intelligence within endowment management and investment frameworks, positioning technological advancement as a servant of established religious stewardship. The second proposal articulates a comprehensive methodology for developing a unified religious preaching strategy across the GCC states, fostering consistency and coherence in religious communication.

Reaffirming the Emirates’ steadfast commitment to collaborative regional development, Dr. Al Darei expressed unwavering support for endowment related initiatives championed by fellow GCC nations. This generous stance reflects the UAE’s foundational belief in collective progress and mutual advancement, reinforcing the shared objectives of regional stability and sustained prosperity that unite the Gulf Cooperation Council member states.
