The Abu Dhabi Future Health Summit 2026 witnessed the formalisation of a distinguished partnership between AiMed Solutions, the intelligent healthcare development platform of Burjeel Holdings, and Proximie, a leader in surgical intelligence technology. This comprehensive Memorandum of Understanding represents a commitment to co-developing advanced artificial intelligence solutions that will fundamentally enhance the operating room experience and patient outcomes.
The collaboration builds upon the sophisticated implementation of Proximie’s surgical intelligence platform across ten operating rooms at Burjeel Medical City in Abu Dhabi, which forms the foundation for Burjeel’s ambitious ONE OR initiative. This expansive undertaking encompasses 45 functional requirements, advancing through a meticulously structured four-stage co-development roadmap that promises to revolutionise surgical care delivery.
A Structured Journey Towards Surgical Intelligence
The inaugural stage will place real-time surgical intelligence at the forefront of the operating day, providing surgical teams with comprehensive visibility through shared screens and mobile interfaces. Teams will monitor performance metrics, receive timely alerts regarding upcoming procedural steps, and benefit from artificial intelligence-supported clinical documentation, fostering enhanced coordination amongst medical professionals.
The second phase introduces agentic artificial intelligence capabilities, workflow monitoring systems, surgical safety protocols and sophisticated bed management solutions. The third stage expands the intelligence framework to encompass endoscopy, cardiac catheterisation laboratories and interventional radiology departments, whilst simultaneously strengthening patient journey coordination and family communication channels. The concluding stage focuses upon surgical instrument tracking and advanced clinical, operational and financial performance indicators.
