His Highness Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Ports and Borders Security Council, attended the Al Ameen Forum, a significant convening held at Atlantis The Royal in Dubai. The Forum, held under the distinguished patronage of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai, brought together an assembly of senior government officials and institutional leaders to advance the collective vision of community security and social stability.
Unfolding under the overarching theme of ‘The Family: The First Line of Defence in Community Security’, the Forum endeavoured to strengthen the foundational role that families play in safeguarding society, deepen meaningful partnerships with government institutions, and cultivate practical recommendations designed to nurture informed, resilient generations capable of upholding the values upon which the nation thrives.
The distinguished gathering assembled an impressive array of leadership, including Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police; Hessa Buhumaid, Director General of the Community Development Authority in Dubai; Aisha Miran, Director General of the Knowledge and Human Development Authority; and representatives from the Ministry of Defence, the National Anti-Narcotics Authority, and other pivotal state institutions.
Lieutenant General Talal Humaid Belhoul Al Falasi, President of Dubai’s State Security Department, articulated the significance of cohesive, engaged families as the bedrock of community security and national identity, particularly in alignment with the UAE’s Year of the Family initiative. He underscored the imperative of proactive strategies to counter emerging digital threats whilst fortifying social cohesion across the emirate.
The Forum encompassed six substantive sessions addressing critical dimensions of family wellbeing and national security. These explorations ranged from future family security and the cultivation of values through education, to youth drug prevention, national service preparedness, family crisis readiness, and the development of intellectual resilience in an increasingly digital world.
Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications, contributed an illuminating perspective on artificial intelligence’s potential to serve society whilst safeguarding the nation’s heritage and values. He emphasised the importance of ensuring that technological platforms authentically represent the UAE’s history, identity and cultural richness.
Aisha Miran addressed education’s profound responsibility in shaping character and identity, outlining initiatives including student codes of conduct and collaborative councils for students, educators and parents. Similarly, Hessa Buhumaid articulated the Community Development Authority’s comprehensive approach to family support, encompassing 148 family programmes and the establishment of unified family centres. The Authority’s interventions have achieved a noteworthy 95% success rate in addressing family challenges, with 484 families benefiting from coordinated counselling services since the year’s commencement.
The Forum reflects the enlightened vision of the UAE’s leadership in positioning families as foundational pillars of society and indispensable partners in preserving the security and stability upon which the nation’s continued prosperity depends.
