UAE deepens diplomatic ties with Hungary as Minister Al Kaabi marks revolution anniversary

Noura Al Kaabi represented the President at Budapest's commemoration of the 1956 Hungarian Revolution, underscoring the Emirates' commitment to strengthening bilateral relations with Central Europe.

The Hungarian capital held solemn remembrance on the seventieth anniversary of the 1956 Revolution and Freedom Fight, an occasion that drew senior officials and international dignitaries to honour a pivotal moment in European history. Among those present was Noura bint Mohamed Al Kaabi, Minister of State, who attended on behalf of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, signalling the UAE’s recognition of Hungary’s historical significance and its contemporary importance as a partner nation.

The commemorative events brought together András Bálint Baka, President of Hungary, alongside Prime Minister Péter Magyar and Deputy Prime Minister Anita Orbán. In her role representing the President, Al Kaabi conveyed greetings from His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court, expressing their wishes for Hungary’s continued progress and prosperity.

Prime Minister Magyar responded with reciprocal sentiments, extending his own greetings to the UAE leadership and articulating Hungary’s hopes for the Emirates’ ongoing development. This exchange of courtesies reflects the diplomatic warmth that characterises relations between the two nations, a partnership built on shared values and mutual respect.

Al Kaabi emphasised during the occasion the UAE’s deep appreciation for its bilateral relationship with Hungary, highlighting the value of strengthening cooperation across areas of shared concern and mutual benefit. The statement underscored a fundamental principle in contemporary international relations: that constructive partnership and enhanced cooperation serve the interests not merely of governments, but of the peoples they represent.

The UAE’s presence at this significant European commemoration demonstrates its commitment to participating in moments of global historical reflection and to maintaining robust diplomatic engagement across diverse regions. As the Emirates continues to build partnerships that transcend geographical and cultural boundaries, attendance at such events reinforces the nation’s role as a responsible and culturally aware member of the international community.
