Dialogue and Diplomacy: Shaping the Region’s Future

Read by Emma, the Simply Abu Dhabi narrator.
Within the Diplomatic Majlis at the Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy, a conversation unfolds about the contours of tomorrow. How do we shape the future of our region? The question sits at the centre of Riwaq Al Fikr, Abu Dhabi Music and Arts Foundation’s platform for intellectual exchange, where ideas move freely and perspectives find their voice.
As part of Abu Dhabi Festival 2026, the series welcomed Dr Ebtesam Al Ketbi, Founder and President of the Emirates Policy Center, to engage with the next generation of Emirati ambassadors and diplomats. The gathering brought together these emerging voices to explore the profound relationship between strategic thinking and constructive dialogue, examining how both might strengthen the UAE’s position as a regional and global leader.
In spaces such as these, diplomacy extends beyond protocol and ceremony. It becomes a living practice, one where forward-looking ideas exchange with considered perspectives, where the architects of tomorrow’s policy meet to test their vision against thoughtful scrutiny. The Diplomatic Majlis created an arena for this kind of engagement, allowing emerging diplomatic talent to understand how dialogue shapes not merely the relations between nations, but the very character of leadership itself.
Through such conversations, Abu Dhabi continues to cultivate the intellectual and diplomatic traditions upon which regional stability and global influence rest. The festival itself becomes more than cultural celebration; it becomes a forum where culture, diplomacy and strategic thought converge, reminding us that the future belongs not to those who dictate alone, but to those who think deeply and listen well.
