The Abu Dhabi healthcare group strengthens its international footprint through strategic acquisitions in Europe while deepening its operational capabilities across the UAE, recording double-digit growth across its core business lines.
The healthcare landscape across the Gulf and beyond is shifting, and PureHealth Holding stands at the centre of this transformation. The group’s financial performance for the first nine months of 2026 reflects not merely solid returns, but a deliberate, measured expansion into markets that demand precision and excellence.
Net profit rose 14.1 percent year-on-year to reach AED1.8 billion, while revenues climbed 11.5 percent to AED22.4 billion. These figures tell only part of the story. Group EBITDA expanded by 20.4 percent to AED4.2 billion, with margins strengthening to 18.6 percent from 17.3 percent in the prior year, signalling a business that is not simply growing wider, but operating with greater efficiency and discipline.
The growth reflects a portfolio that has been carefully constructed. The consolidation of Hellenic Healthcare Group in Greece and Cyprus contributed AED2.3 billion in revenue, while Circle Health Group in the United Kingdom recorded 5.3 percent year-on-year revenue growth, supported by a deliberate shift towards higher-acuity inpatient activity. Insurance revenue, particularly through Daman, rose 11.7 percent, with gross written premium climbing 14 percent year-on-year to AED6.8 billion.
International healthcare operations now account for a significant portion of the group’s earnings. International healthcare revenue increased 53 percent to AED7.3 billion, with EBITDA rising 63 percent to AED1.6 billion and margins expanding to 22.3 percent. This trajectory reflects not only the integration of recent acquisitions, but a deeper commitment to established healthcare markets where complexity and demand are rising.
Within the UAE, patient activity has strengthened meaningfully. Operational bed capacity expanded to 3,543 beds from 3,433, with occupancy rates reaching 76 percent. Outpatient volumes grew 9 percent and inpatient volumes rose 13 percent year-on-year, reflecting both the quality of the group’s services and the increasing confidence of patients in its capabilities.
Daman, the group’s insurance arm, continues its deliberate expansion. Net profit increased 3.9 percent to AED667 million, while insured members rose 2 percent year-on-year to approximately 3.4 million. The launch of a dedicated small and medium-sized enterprise business line within the Property and Casualty division demonstrates a thoughtful approach to market diversification.
The group is also embedding technology into the fabric of its operations, from clinical pathways to patient engagement systems. Circle Health Group has agreed to take over selected United Kingdom laboratory operations from Unilabs Limited, a move that brings diagnostics and hospital services into closer alignment, improving the coordination of patient care.
What it means for Abu Dhabi
PureHealth’s expansion signals Abu Dhabi’s growing influence in global healthcare markets. By establishing and strengthening positions in the United Kingdom, Greece and Cyprus alongside its dominant presence in the UAE, the group is creating an integrated healthcare ecosystem that draws on the resources and expertise of multiple established markets while remaining anchored in Abu Dhabi’s healthcare ecosystem.
The group’s performance reflects the broader trajectory of Abu Dhabi’s diversification strategy. As noted in the strong financial results reported across major financial institutions, the UAE continues to build an economy characterised by strategic investment, operational excellence and measured international expansion. PureHealth’s growth in both insurance and healthcare delivery positions the Emirates as a sophisticated healthcare provider and administrator, capable of managing complex medical challenges and serving millions of patients across multiple markets.
