Sharjah presents its cultural richness and natural beauty to Europe’s leading travel professionals

Sharjah presents its cultural richness and natural beauty to Europe's leading travel professionals

The emirate returns to World Travel Market London for its 23rd consecutive year, showcasing a curated portfolio of heritage, eco-tourism and family experiences to strengthen ties with key European markets

The Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority takes to the stage at ExCeL London this November for its 23rd consecutive appearance at World Travel Market, one of the travel industry’s most influential gathering places. The emirate’s pavilion will welcome more than 20 government and private-sector entities, each contributing to a comprehensive portrait of Sharjah as a multifaceted destination where cultural authenticity and natural splendour converge.

Across the pavilion’s interactive spaces, visitors and trade partners will discover the breadth of experiences that define modern Sharjah tourism. The curated presentation weaves together the emirate’s celebrated cultural heritage with its diverse geography, from coastal retreats to mountain sanctuaries and desert landscapes. Eco-tourism sits at the centre of this narrative, reflecting Sharjah’s commitment to sustainable tourism practices and geological education. Adventure seekers, families and those drawn to authentic cultural immersion will discover the breadth of offerings, alongside an array of accommodation and hospitality options each shaped by its distinctive setting.

Europe represents one of Sharjah’s most significant tourism markets, with the United Kingdom, Germany and France leading the way. The timing of WTM London affords the emirate an opportunity to deepen partnerships with these major European markets, forge new channels of cooperation and elevate its international profile. The participation reflects the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to position the emirate as a fully developed global tourism destination, built on its compelling assets and the innovative experiences it cultivates.

The pavilion introduces a novel approach to international travel exhibitions, harnessing digital technology and sophisticated audio-visual storytelling to create an immersive introduction to Sharjah’s tourism landscape. This reflects the emirate’s broader evolution as a cultural and tourism hub. As we reported in our coverage of Sharjah’s hosting of the International Travel and Tourism Forum, the emirate continues to examine and shape global tourism’s future through innovation, resilience and education. The private sector has emerged as a vital catalyst for tourism evolution, working alongside government entities to strengthen the emirate’s competitive standing.

The delegation comprises significant institutional partners including Sharjah Airport Authority, the Environment and Protected Areas Authority, Sharjah Museums Authority, Sharjah Sports Council, Sharjah Institute for Heritage, and Expo Centre Sharjah, alongside private-sector leaders including Air Arabia, Sharjah National Hotels and several of the emirate’s most distinguished hospitality establishments.

What it means for Abu Dhabi

Sharjah’s sustained engagement with international travel markets strengthens the entire UAE tourism ecosystem. Europe represents a crucial source market for the region’s tourism growth, and the emirate’s successful positioning in these markets elevates visitor awareness and travel intent across the broader emirates.

The emphasis on sustainable tourism and cultural authenticity at WTM London reflects values increasingly important to global travellers and aligned with the UAE’s broader tourism strategy. Sharjah’s integration of eco-tourism, heritage preservation and innovative visitor experiences demonstrates the diversified approach to tourism development that benefits the region’s international competitiveness and cultural prominence.
