Abu Dhabi’s airports demonstrated continued momentum in cargo operations during the third quarter of 2026, handling 225,298 tonnes of freight and recording year-on-year growth of 11.4 per cent.
The expansion was underpinned by particularly strong performance in dedicated freighter cargo, which increased by 28.2 per cent during the same period, reflecting the airports’ strengthening position within global air freight networks.
Zayed International Airport contributed to this expansion through a significant broadening of its route portfolio. The airport extended its network of destinations to 124, establishing new air routes with five airlines, thereby enhancing connectivity across key markets and reinforcing Abu Dhabi’s role as a strategic hub for international cargo operations.
