The Dubai Content Creators Programme concludes with a showcase of original work that captures the emirate's most iconic destinations through the lens of emerging digital talent, demonstrating how modern storytelling can reveal the depth and allure of Dubai's tourism landscape.
The final projects emerging from the tourism and economy edition of the Dubai Content Creators Programme represent far more than academic exercises. They are windows into how a new generation of digital creators perceive and interpret the stories that define Dubai as a global destination.
Organised by the Dubai Press Club in partnership with the Department of Economy and Tourism, the intensive two-week programme guided participants through the full arc of digital content creation. The challenge set before them was deceptively simple: choose a Dubai landmark and tell its story your way. The outcomes, however, reveal the sophistication that emerges when creative ambition meets structured skill development.
Participants crafted work across multiple formats, from short-form videos of 60 to 90 seconds designed for Instagram and TikTok, to longer narrative pieces spanning three to ten minutes for YouTube, and even documentary-style features. This diversity of format demanded that creators think strategically about audience, platform and the particular strengths each medium offers. The programme equipped them to move fluidly between concept and execution, guiding them through scriptwriting and storytelling, through the technical disciplines of filming, lighting and editing, and into the considered approach required to tailor content for publication across different digital ecosystems.
As we reported in our coverage of the enhanced programme launched earlier this autumn, the Dubai Press Club and Department of Economy and Tourism have been committed to merging theoretical knowledge with hands-on experience, a philosophy that shaped every aspect of this intensive initiative. Wedad Kahoor, Section Head of Media Talent Development at the Dubai Press Club, emphasised this balance, noting that the final projects offered a genuine measure of how well participants had absorbed and applied their learning in translating Dubai’s diverse tourism narrative into credible, engaging digital content.
The assessment of these projects considered not only technical execution but conceptual clarity, originality of vision, storytelling quality and the creators’ ability to capture what makes each chosen landmark or destination distinctive. The work reflects an understanding that tourism content creation requires more than technical proficiency; it demands an eye for authenticity and a capacity to communicate genuine appeal to both local and international audiences.
What it means for Abu Dhabi
The success of Dubai’s Content Creators Programme underscores the broader significance of digital storytelling across the Emirates as a tool for economic and cultural advancement. As tourism and international trade continue to shape the region’s trajectory, the ability to craft authentic, compelling narratives about destinations and experiences becomes increasingly valuable. This programme demonstrates how investment in media talent development translates into content that serves both the tourism sector and the wider reputation of the Emirates globally.
The collaborative approach taken by Dubai’s government institutions in this initiative, drawing together the press, economy and tourism sectors, reflects a strategic understanding that effective storytelling requires institutional coordination. The participants who have completed this programme join a growing cohort of media professionals equipped to shape how the Emirates and its achievements are perceived and discussed across digital platforms where millions of people form their impressions of the region.
