UAE and CCPIT launch China–UAE Business Advisory Committee to boost private‑sector ties

A memorandum of understanding signed in Beijing will establish a business‑led China–UAE committee to deepen investment links and provide a direct channel between Chinese and UAE companies.

New China–UAE Business Advisory Committee to foster direct private‑sector ties

The Ministry of Investment of the United Arab Emirates and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to create the China–UAE Business Advisory Committee. The agreement, finalised in Beijing, was signed by Mohammad Abdulrahman Alhawi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Investment, and Lin Honghong, Vice Chairwoman of CCPIT. Yousef Tahnon Al Ali spoke on behalf of the UAE business community.

The committee is conceived as a business‑led platform to enable sustained, structured dialogue between Chinese and UAE firms. Its remit includes identifying investment projects and partnership opportunities, facilitating business matchmaking, and promoting information exchange so companies can engage directly with potential partners and investors.

As the federal gateway between government and the private sector, the Ministry of Investment will support the committee’s activities and link its work into the wider High‑Level Committee framework. The Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FCCIUAE) will lead engagement and implementation on the UAE side, with the Ministry convening relevant stakeholders and helping to coordinate across the investment ecosystem.

The move extends the government‑to‑government investment framework into a dedicated channel for private‑sector collaboration. It is intended to help turn investment interest into long‑term commercial partnerships, guiding businesses from the initial exploration of opportunities through to navigating the UAE’s investment landscape and, where appropriate, deal completion.

The MoU highlights the scale of commercial ties between the two countries. The Ministry notes that nearly 16,000 Chinese companies operate in the UAE, while China accounted for 4.8% of the UAE’s inward foreign direct investment stock in 2025 and remains the country’s largest global trading partner.

Officials said the committee will support businesses seeking opportunities across the UAE’s investment ecosystem and align with the UAE National Investment Strategy 2031 by focusing on high‑growth sectors that underpin economic diversification.

By creating a dedicated private‑sector forum, the UAE and CCPIT aim to deepen economic connectivity, promote practical cooperation between enterprises and strengthen the broader comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.
