Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi meets Russian President on sidelines of BRICS Summit in New Delhi

NEW DELHI, 12 September 2026 — H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, held a bilateral meeting with President Vladimir Putin of the Russian Federation on the sidelines of the 18th BRICS Summit in New Delhi.
At the outset of the meeting the Crown Prince conveyed the greetings of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and extended best wishes for President Putin’s health and for the continued progress and prosperity of Russia and its people. President Putin reciprocated with sincere greetings to the President of the UAE and his best wishes for the enduring success and wellbeing of the UAE and its citizens.
The two leaders discussed the longstanding strategic relations between the UAE and Russia and considered ways to deepen bilateral co‑operation in support of shared interests and in line with the aspirations of both countries and their peoples. The agenda also encompassed a range of regional and international issues, with both sides underlining the importance of continued coordination on the outcomes of the BRICS Summit.
According to the official statement, the parties emphasised a shared interest in translating the summit’s recommendations into practical initiatives for mutual benefit. The meeting thus formed part of a wider pattern of high‑level engagement by UAE leaders at international fora, reflecting Abu Dhabi’s diplomatic emphasis on pragmatic partnerships and multilateral dialogue.
