Ministry of Defence holds military funeral for two martyrs

A military funeral was held at Zayed Military Hospital on Monday for Major Abdullah Shams Al Menhaly and Warrant Officer Saeed Abdullah Al Shamsi, who were martyred while carrying out a training mission in the UAE.
The ceremony was attended by senior leaders and officers from the Ministry of Defence together with relatives and members of the martyrs’ families. Attendees paid their respects in a ceremony reflecting the armed forces’ traditions of honouring those who fall in the line of duty.
The Ministry of Defence extended its deepest condolences to the families of the two service members. In its statement the Ministry asked the Almighty to envelop the martyrs in His vast mercy, admit them to the spacious gardens of Paradise, and to grant their families patience and solace.
The service at Zayed Military Hospital underlined the UAE’s practice of recognising the sacrifice of military personnel during training and operations. While details of the training mission were not disclosed, the Ministry’s announcement affirmed the Armed Forces’ commitment to supporting bereaved families and commemorating the contributions of their loved ones.
