Scottsdale stage set for fourth leg of Emirates Arabian Horse Global Cup

The UAE‑organised series continues in Scottsdale from 16 to 19 September, with 44 purebred Arabians representing around 22 owners competing as part of the championship’s third edition.

The fourth leg of the third Emirates Arabian Horse Global Cup (EAHGC) begins in Scottsdale, Arizona, on 16 September, marking a key stop in the UAE‑run international series that promotes the purebred Arabian horse worldwide. The US event runs until 19 September and will feature 44 horses representing around 22 owners.

UAE leadership and heritage at centre stage

The championship is organised by the UAE to support the Arabian horse sector and to bolster its global standing, reflecting the country’s longstanding commitment to the breed as part of its national heritage. The series is held under the follow‑up of Sheikh Zayed bin Hamad Al Nahyan, Vice Chairman of the Emirates Arabian Horse Society’s Board of Directors and Chairman of the Higher Organising Committee.

Now in its third edition, the EAHGC stages legs across multiple continents to expand the championship’s international reach. The Scottsdale leg coincides with the Emirates Arabian Horse Breeders Championship — first held in 1955 and regarded as the oldest championship in the history of purebred Arabian horse competitions — underscoring the event’s historical significance and continuity.

Competition and international profile

Competitions in Scottsdale will include classes for colts and fillies across various age categories, as well as separate mare and stallion classes, culminating in final championships for each division. Scottsdale is widely recognised as a major international hub for Arabian horses, and hosting this leg further cements its role on the global equestrian map.

The EAHGC’s presence in North America brings together owners, breeders and enthusiasts from around the world and forms a strategic element of the UAE’s efforts to support breeders, promote best practice and preserve the lineage and standards of the purebred Arabian horse.

By linking an international competition circuit with the UAE’s institutional backing and historical championships, the Global Cup seeks both to raise competitive standards and to ensure that the Arabian horse remains a living emblem of cultural identity for the UAE.
