Sheikh Nahyan offers condolences to families of two UAE martyrs in Al Ain

On 16 September 2026 Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, paid condolence visits to the families of Major Abdullah Shamis Al Menhali and Officer Cadet Saeed Abdullah Al Shamsi.
The two service members were martyred while carrying out a training mission in the UAE. During his visits to the mourning majlises in Al Ain, Sheikh Nahyan conveyed his sincere condolences and heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved families, praying to Almighty Allah to grant the departed His mercy and a place in Paradise.
Sheikh Nahyan also prayed for patience and solace for the families and loved ones of the martyrs. His presence at the gatherings followed established tradition in which senior officials and community leaders visit mourning households to offer personal support and solidarity in times of loss.
The families of Major Al Menhali and Officer Cadet Al Shamsi expressed their appreciation for Sheikh Nahyan’s condolences and support during their period of grief. They, in turn, prayed for the protection of the UAE, its leadership and its people from all harm.
The visits underline the role federal ministers and local leaders play in offering direct support to families affected by loss in service, and reflect wider community customs of public condolence and communal prayer following tragic incidents.
