H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum visited the 33rd Arabian Travel Market (ATM) on 16 September, held at the Dubai World Trade Centre. The annual gathering brings together destinations, tourism authorities, carriers, hotels and travel-technology companies from across the globe to showcase innovations and discuss sector growth.

During his tour of the exhibition H.H. examined the latest solutions and services being presented across travel, tourism and aviation. Exhibits emphasised the rapid transformation of the industry driven by technology, artificial intelligence and digitalisation, alongside a marked focus on sustainable travel experiences and smarter mobility.

H.H. was briefed at the stands of the UAE’s national carriers, including Emirates, flydubai, dnata and Etihad Airways. The visit included an overview of recent developments in passenger services and operational innovations. Etihad Airways, the Abu Dhabi-based national carrier, was among those outlining initiatives intended to support continued aviation growth and to strengthen travel flows to and from the UAE.

The carriers and service providers highlighted how digital tools and new technologies are being deployed to enhance the passenger experience, improve operational efficiency and respond to changing global travel patterns. Exhibitors showcased solutions spanning contactless services, data-driven customer journeys and sustainability measures designed to reduce the environmental footprint of travel.

Organisers said the 33rd edition provided an international platform for building business relationships, exchanging knowledge and exploring new commercial opportunities. For Abu Dhabi and its aviation sector, the presence of Etihad at ATM underlined the emirate’s continuing role in shaping national air connectivity and tourism promotion.

As the global travel industry adapts to technological disruption and evolving traveller preferences, the discussions and demonstrations at ATM highlighted the strategic importance of collaboration between carriers, technology providers and tourism authorities to sustain growth and resilience across the sector.
