Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed visits Abu Dhabi International Book Fair 2026

H.H. Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan toured the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair at ADNEC, meeting publishers and reviewing new publications, digital projects and programmes.

Royal visit highlights cultural and educational aims of the fair

H.H. Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Development and Fallen Heroes’ Affairs, visited the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair on 16 September 2026. The event, organised by the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre (ALC) under the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, runs at ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi until 18 September 2026.

During his visit, Sheikh Theyab toured the fair’s halls and principal pavilions, meeting a broad cross-section of publishers and participants. He reviewed the latest publications on display alongside digital projects and the programmes being presented by exhibitors, reflecting the fair’s mix of print and digital cultural offerings.

The dignitary emphasised the fair’s role in bringing cultures and ideas together and in engaging new generations of readers. His visit reiterated the event’s focus on intercultural dialogue and mutual understanding, as well as on the cultivation of reading and cultural exchange across diverse communities.

Sheikh Theyab praised the organisers for their work in showcasing Emirati culture. He highlighted the importance of culture and reading for human development and for strengthening social cohesion – themes central to the fair’s public and institutional engagement.

The Abu Dhabi International Book Fair, hosted at ADNEC, is one of the capital’s key cultural gatherings, drawing publishers, authors and cultural organisations. The presence of senior members of the Abu Dhabi leadership underscores the Emirate’s continued commitment to promoting literature, knowledge dissemination and cultural diplomacy.

As the fair proceeds through to 18 September, visitors can expect to encounter a programme of publications, digital initiatives and events that reflect both local and international perspectives, underlining Abu Dhabi’s role as a regional hub for cultural exchange and literary activity.
