Abdullah bin Zayed receives US President’s Senior Advisor for Arab and African Affairs

Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed met the US President’s Senior Advisor for Arab and African Affairs in Abu Dhabi to discuss UAE–US ties, cooperation in Africa and regional security.

UAE and US review strategic partnership in Abu Dhabi

H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, received Massad Boulos, the US President’s Senior Advisor for Arab and African Affairs, in Abu Dhabi on 16 September 2026. The meeting reviewed the strategic relations between the United Arab Emirates and the United States and considered ways to deepen cooperation across multiple sectors in support of mutual interests.

Officials from both sides discussed the bilateral partnership’s scope and potential avenues to strengthen collaboration. Particular attention was given to the UAE–US partnership in Africa, where the two countries affirmed their shared commitment to promoting security, stability and development across the continent’s nations. The conversation reflected the continuing emphasis placed by Abu Dhabi on constructive international engagement in Africa.

The talks also addressed current regional developments and the situation in the Middle East. Both parties underlined the importance of concerted regional and international efforts to preserve international peace and security and to support development initiatives that benefit local communities. The meeting formed part of ongoing diplomatic contacts aimed at aligning approaches to shared challenges and opportunities in the region and beyond.

Present at the meeting was Sheikh Shakhbout bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, Minister of State, who joined officials in reviewing the issues discussed. The visit illustrates Abu Dhabi’s active diplomatic engagement with US interlocutors on matters of bilateral relations, regional stability and multilateral cooperation.

By convening high‑level discussions in the capital, Abu Dhabi continues to position itself as a hub for dialogue on security and development matters that affect the wider Middle East and Africa. The exchange with the US senior advisor underscores the UAE’s interest in sustaining and expanding cooperative endeavours that address common strategic priorities.
