Ajman digital authorities and CPX sign MoU to strengthen cybersecurity
Ajman Digital, Ajman Municipality and Planning Department and CPX have agreed a tripartite MoU, under the UAE Cyber Security Council’s sponsorship, to bolster prevention, response and national ESOC capabilities.
Tripartite accord aligns local action with national cyber priorities
On 19th September 2026, Ajman Digital Department, Ajman Municipality and Planning Department and CPX signed a memorandum of understanding to deepen co‑operation on information technology and cybersecurity. The agreement, signed under the sponsorship and coordination of the UAE Cyber Security Council, is intended to support joint efforts to build a safer and more sustainable digital environment.
The MoU formalises collaboration between government bodies and specialist cybersecurity providers through knowledge exchange, expertise sharing and the adoption of recognised best practice. Its stated aims include strengthening prevention and response capabilities against cyberattacks, exchanging technical expertise in information security, and developing awareness and education programmes that promote safer digital behaviour.
Ahood Ali Al Shuhail, Director‑General of Ajman Digital Department, said the MoU represents a further step towards strengthening the cybersecurity ecosystem and enhancing government entities’ readiness to address rapid developments in the digital environment. “Cybersecurity is a shared responsibility, and enhancing readiness requires integrated efforts and the exchange of expertise between government entities and specialised partners,” she added, noting the agreement will expand co‑operation in prevention, response and cybersecurity awareness to protect digital infrastructure and maintain continuity of services.
Hamdan Mohammed Al Ali, Executive Director of the Support Services Sector at Ajman Municipality and Planning Department, said the agreement strengthens government integration in addressing evolving cyber challenges and supports improved coordination in information security. He emphasised that exchanging knowledge and developing capabilities will enhance protection of digital systems, data and infrastructure while supporting the continuity of safe and reliable government services.
Crucially for national resilience, the MoU also supports the National Initiative to develop the capabilities of the UAE’s Cyber Security Operations Centres (ESOC). By aligning local institutional efforts with the ESOC initiative and the UAE Cyber Security Council’s coordination, the accord seeks to contribute to a more consistent, federation‑wide approach to cybersecurity operations and incident response.
While the MoU focuses on institutional co‑operation and capacity building rather than specific technical deployments, its emphasis on awareness, training and joint readiness is consistent with wider federal priorities to secure the UAE’s digital transformation. The partnership is expected to involve exchanges of technical knowhow and the development of programmes to raise public and staff awareness of cyber risks.
