Abu Dhabi Sports Council Receives Expanded Regulatory Mandate

The Abu Dhabi Executive Council has issued a significant resolution expanding the mandate of Abu Dhabi Sports Council, conferring new regulatory and professional oversight responsibilities across the emirate’s sporting landscape.
Under the enhanced framework, the Sports Council will assume responsibility for regulating and licensing sporting establishments and entities throughout Abu Dhabi. The Council will also be empowered to grant professional accreditation to sports professionals and issue licences permitting them to practise at these facilities, working in close coordination with relevant authorities to ensure comprehensive sector oversight.
These expanded mandates represent a strategic initiative to cultivate a more cohesive and professionally robust sporting ecosystem. By strengthening both regulatory and professional frameworks, the resolution aims to enhance service quality across the sector while simultaneously improving workforce efficiency and competency standards.
