TRENDS Group leads scientific direction for UN Crime Congress in Abu Dhabi
The prominent research institution assumes key role in shaping intellectual content for international gathering of justice ministers and criminal justice experts from nearly 100 nations
Abu Dhabi is hosting the 15th United Nations Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice from 26th September to 1st October 2026, drawing together more than 32 ministers of justice and over 3,000 participants from 97 countries. The Congress operates under the theme “Accelerating crime prevention, criminal justice and the rule of law: protecting people and planet and achieving the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development in the digital age.”
TRENDS Group, working in close coordination with the Ministry of Justice, has assumed a leading role in developing the Congress’s scientific content whilst simultaneously contributing through an accompanying knowledge pavilion. The Group’s involvement underscores Abu Dhabi’s position as a centre for advanced criminal justice research and international scholarly exchange.
Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al Ali, Chairman of the Board of Directors of TRENDS Group, emphasised that the Group’s participation demonstrates its commitment to fostering international dialogue grounded in rigorous research and knowledge production. He highlighted how the Congress provides an opportunity to apply scientific foresight to contemporary challenges in crime prevention and justice systems as they navigate rapid technological change.
Through its exhibition pavilion, TRENDS Group will showcase a comprehensive selection of its publications, research outputs and strategic initiatives, highlighting the expertise across its five constituent companies. This platform will enable dialogue between the Group’s specialists and participants, experts and researchers attending from institutions across the globe.
Rawdha Al-Marzouqi, Director of Exhibitions and Distribution at TRENDS Group, noted that the pavilion serves as an important vehicle for presenting the Group’s intellectual contributions whilst establishing meaningful connections with academic, research and international institutions represented at the Congress.
Zayed Al Dhaheri, Director of Distribution at TRENDS’ Exhibitions and Distribution Sector, underscored the significance of the Group’s presence in strengthening communication pathways with international scholarly communities. He added that the TRENDS Youth Council will contribute to the Congress programme by organising a specialised dialogue session focused on artificial intelligence and its implications for criminal justice systems.
